Hoyer “Tax, Tax, Spend, Spend Democrat” Says No To Bush-Era Tax Cuts

House lawmakers won't vote on an extension of the Bush-era tax cuts before the November midterm elections unless the Senate acts first.

"If the Senate can't do anything, our position is clear. We don't need to have a vote to let the American people know where we stand," said Steny Hoyer (D-MD). Really, you sanctimonious bastard?

Hoyer’s comments cast serious doubt on whether there will be any congressional action on extending the tax cuts before lawmakers hit the campaign trails in advance of the Nov. 2 elections.

Without congressional action, the lower tax rates enacted during the Bush administration in 2001 and 2003 will expire at the end of the year.

And from our Thank You Sir, May I Have Another Dept.:

Under the errand boy sent by grocery clerks’ regime, the unemployment rate has gone from 4.6 percent in January 2007 to 9.6 percent in August 2010. More people are unemployed, with the numbers more than doubling, from 7 million in January 2007 to 14.9 million in August 2010. The federal budget deficit has exploded from what was an embarrassing $163 billion at the close of fiscal 2007 to an estimated $1.46 trillion for the fiscal year about to close on Sept. 30—an increase of nine times. New monthly bankruptcies have risen from 57,240 in January 2007 to 127,028 in August 2010. Our national debt has ballooned from just over $9 trillion at the end of fiscal 2007 to almost $13.5 trillion in less than three years.

Please Excuse Us For Being So Dumb Senator Kerry

Not all of us are bright enough to be C students at Yale nor are we smart enough to marry a deceased colleague's billionaire widow. Please excuse us for being so dumb Sen. Kerry.

Blogger-in-Arms, Professor William Jacobson, proprietor of Legal Insurrection, jumped in with both feet when he learned that Sen. John “Waffles” Kerry blamed clueless voters with short attention spans for the uphill battle beleaguered Democrats are facing against Republicans across the nation.

“We have an electorate that doesn’t always pay that much attention to what’s going on so people are influenced by a simple slogan rather than the facts or the truth or what’s happening,” Kerry told reporters at the Boston Herald after touring the Boston Medical Center.

In 2006, the former presidential candidate had to apologize for a statement he made at a California college that U.S. students who did not study hard and stay in school would end up “stuck in Iraq.”

This is the same man who attended an anti-war rally with “Hanoi Jane” Fonda. Testifying before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee on April 23, 1971, Kerry claimed that U.S. soldiers had “raped, cut off ears, cut off heads, taped wires from portable telephones to human genitals and turned up the power, cut off limbs, blown up bodies, randomly shot at civilians, razed villages, shot cattle and dogs for fun, poisoned food stocks, and generally ravaged the countryside of South Vietnam.”

This is the same man who, on the same day led members of Vietnam Veterans Against The War in a protest during which they threw their medals and ribbons over a fence in front of the U.S. Capitol. Kerry later admitted the medals he threw were not his. To this day they hang on the wall of his office.

As a national leader of VVAW, Kerry campaigned against the effort of the United States to contain the spread of Communism. He used the blood of servicemen still in the field for his own political advancement by claiming that their blood was being shed unnecessarily or in vain.

Under Kerry's leadership, VVAW members mocked the uniform of United States soldiers by wearing tattered fatigues marked with pro-communist graffiti. They dishonored America by marching in demonstrations under the flag of the Viet Cong enemy.

Kerry believes we should be mad at stonewalling Republicans and “big money” in politics, referring to a bill blocked by Republicans Thursday that would reveal corporate and union leaders who fund big-bucks political ads

It takes some real hubris to complain about “big money” in politics, when you’re John Kerry, husband to the heiress of the Heinz family fortune, and when the biggest political splash you’ve made this year is that you were caught docking your yacht in Rhode Island to avoid paying your home state’s luxury tax.

This is your modern Democratic party, ladies and gentleman. Hubris and entitlement. Our “betters” are digging themselves deeper and deeper into a more extreme and irrelevant ideological pit, becoming shriller and angrier as they realize “We the People” are no longer listening, but mocking them and finding our voices.

Oh, we get it John. We get it. That, I promise.

Too Clever By Half

There are a couple of viewpoints at play in the Colbert/migrant worker testimony before the House Subcommittee on Immigration, Citizenship, Refugees, Border Security and International Law on Friday, September 24, 2010.

Many find Mr. Colbert funny, but the comedian failed to amuse lawmakers Friday during a hearing on farm jobs and illegal immigrants and the so-called AgJOBS bill that would give illegal immigrant farm workers a pathway to legal status.

"I don't want a tomato picked by a Mexican. I want it picked by an American, then sliced by a Guatemalan and served by a Venezuelan in a spa where a Chilean gives me a Brazilian," quipped Colbert.

"I started my workday with preconceived notions of migrant labor, but after working with these men and women picking beans, packing corn for hours on end side by side in the unforgiving sun, I have to say—and I do mean this sincerely—please don't make me do this again," he said. "It is really, really hard work."

Colbert said his day on a farm left him traumatized noting that, "I don't even want to watch Green Acres again."

Fausta’s Blog notes that, “Of course, Congress could have called National Humanities Medal honoree Victor Davis Hanson, who not only was born and raised on California a farm, but has continued to operate the family farm to this day. Hanson has had more than one day in the unforgiving sun out at the farm picking grapes, day in and day out, and can offer first-hand testimony on migrant labor.”

Politico’s take offers another viewpoint: “Colbert knocks Dems off message.” Don Surber believes, “For his part, Stephen Colbert got the laughs for the wrong reason. He was supposed to be mocking conservative views on illegal aliens. Instead, he wound up mocking the Democratic Congress.”

The viewpoint which I share with Dan Riehl is that Colbert was a distraction from the more important Department of Justice testimony on the New Black Panther Party voter intimidation case given by Christopher Coates, ex-chief of the Voting Section of the Civil Rights Division at the Department of Justice.

Coates leveled an explosive allegation saying that top officials in the department gutted a voter intimidation case against the fringe militant group, the New Black Panther Party, because the suspects were black and their alleged victims were white.

You can read more about the NBPP case here and here. In summary, in order for a deception to succeed, it must be habitual and uninterrupted. This is a game the limousine liberals have perfected. Remember November. Stop the fleecing of America.

Spine of steel, least unfavorable, and other irrelevance..

Can't embed the video here, so watch this over at RCP.

"Sit down, you fulminating piece of cow manure.."

..o.k., you back? Good. Now tell me about that gratuitous piece of reporting from the sack-o-crap Los Angeles Fox 11 guy. Don't you just know they cherry-picked all of the numbers on this race to dredge up those to stats? "Very Favorable" and "Very Unfavorable" just screams irrelevance.

And what's with this "spine of steel" stuff, bozo? Man, these folks in the MSM are desperate!

Colin Powell Declares Illegals Do Necessary Work

I thought this guy was out of our hair after his sell out during the 2008 election.  I guess now that it is getting close to election time again, he is deciding to bless us all with his greatness!  In a recent interview with NBC, Powell is on record acknowledging that illegal immigrants have done work on his house.  He even stated that the illegals are "what's keeping this country's lifeblood moving forward"!  "They are doing things we need done in this country" so he believes we should give them a path towards legal status.  I have two thoughts about that.  First, if you give them legal status, they will then quit doing the work and start draining our welfare system.  Second, if some of the lazy social welfare recipients would get off of their asses, the work that "needs to be done" would get completed, our welfare problem would go away and their would not be a reason for these illegals to enter the country!

In that same interview, Powell also stated  "let's attack him on policy, not nonsense" when asked about critics of Obama! New flash CP....his policies are NONSENSE!

Why do people keep dragging these old goofs out of the woodwork!

Home town boy makes good..

Alright, boys 'n girls, our very own Tim Daniel (absotively, posolutely no "S") of Left Coast Rebel has hit the bigs!

Tim is starting to write for PJM -- Pajamas Media -- a more erudite, intellectual site where the comments are often longer than some of my blathering posts. (And more coherent.)

So mosey on over there, drop a few thousand well-chosen words below his deathless prose and generally make him squirm. Oh yeah, click the "like button" too.

Here's hoping we'll read a lot more from Tim over there and I sure hope to goodness he remembers all of us "little people" in his acceptance speeches.

O’Donnell’s Got ‘Em Bewitched, Bothered And Bewildered

John Nolte, of Big Hollywood writes, “In desperate Hail Mary moves to protect Obama and Democrats from what’s looking like a November rout, three of the left’s most beloved Palace Guards have just upped their game considerably. Bill Maher’s now openly blackmailing Delaware Republican Senate Candidate Christine O’Donnell, threatening a weekly drip-drip-drip of videos he thinks will ruin her candidacy unless she agrees to appear on his show—which is where he’ll really pull out the stops to finally win that Emmy by attempting to destroy her.”

Big Government, offers the thoughts of John Tillman, CEO of the Illinois Policy Institute, on what Karl Rove should have said following O’Donnell’s victory in Delaware.

Michelle Malkin sternly writes, “Narcissism. Blackmail. Distortion. All wrapped in his trademark smirk of pallor. Yes, it’s tired old liberal “comedian” Bill Maher trying to get Senate GOP primary candidate Christine O’Donnell to come on his show by baiting her with a brief video clip in which she mentions having “dabbled” in “witchcraft” and hung around people who practiced it.”

“The left-wing blogs (and a few short-sighted rightie ones) are having a field day. What they all seem to have missed is the context for the discussion. The AP says the “context of what led to the comment is not clear.”

I like what Stacy McCain threw out there: “What is it with some Republicans who would rather walk away from a difficult fight rather than to muster a show of force by winning where Conventional Wisdom says victory is impossible? I’ve always loved underdogs who fight like hell and win despite all odds, but it seems some members of the GOP commentariat are wired differently.”

“Christine O’Donnell is a ‘lousy candidate’? Well, pray tell what would you call John McCain?”

Tell it, brother!

Tea Party Taking Out The Trash?

From The Boston Herald we learn that Senator John Kerry (D-MA) sent out an email stating that, “The news from Delaware is crystal clear: It’s Sarah Palin’s party now,” Kerry wrote in a fund-raising e-mail titled “Delawow!” He went on to say, “We have to fight back. Click here to contribute right now to make sure we defeat the Tea Party extremists.”

Instapundit’s Glenn Reynolds merrily noted, “I think the Tea Party couldn’t ask for any better publicity than to be denounced by a millionaire who dodges paying taxes on his yacht.”

The Tea Party is taking out the trash and Peggy Noonan opines on why it’s time for the Tea Party:

“…at this moment we are witnessing a shift that will likely have some enduring political impact. Another way of saying that: The past few years, a lot of people in politics have wondered about the possibility of a third party. Would it be possible to organize one? While they were wondering, a virtual third party was being born. And nobody organized it.”

[snip]

”So far, the tea party is not a wing of the GOP but a critique of it. This was demonstrated in spectacular fashion when GOP operatives dismissed tea party-backed Christine O'Donnell in Delaware. The Republican establishment is ‘the reason we even have the Tea Party movement,’ shot back columnist and tea party enthusiast Andrea Tantaros in the New York Daily News. It was the Bush administration that ‘ran up deficits’ and gave us ‘open borders’ and ‘Medicare Part D and busted budgets.’"

America is still a democratic republic, not an aristocracy. “We The People” are concerned with restoring the United States Constitution to its rightful place in our government. The Tea Party is only interested in preserving the country this regime is hell-bent to “fundamentally transform.”

Noonan’s exit question is, “Will the center join arms and work with the tea party?”

They’d better or the career freeloaders with be tossed out with the trash.

Product Promotion - Infidel Caps

I am not one who would normally endorse any one given product, but I think this is a great product as it is both useful and makes a clear and concise statement;

Infidel Caps

From the Planet Stun Gun website:

Islamic extremists who justify the brutal oppression and killing of innocent men, women and children as a means of waging a holy war, regard those of any religion who do not adopt their violent theology as "Infidels."

As Americans, of every religion, whose nation is founded upon the principles of life and liberty for all people, we proudly wear the title "Infidel" in open defiance to those who would take those rights away from under the pretense of their extremist beliefs.

The Infidel cap is one size fits all, constructed of 100% cotton. The word "Infidel" is stitched in both English and Arabic on the front.

You get both the Olive and Khaki hats for $20.

If interested, follow the link above to the Planet Stun Gun website.

Author's note: I have no vested interest in this whatsoever.

Crimes Against Liberty

“Generations from now, we will be ableto look back and tell our children that this was the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal,” and that “we are the ones we’ve been waiting for.”—Barack Obama upon winning his party’s nomination for president.

It didn’t take generations but only a couple of years for a majority of Americans to begin to realize that instead of messianic healing, the errand boy sent by grocery clerks is inflicting unprecedented injuries on America and the liberties of its citizens.

Your humble dispatcher is currently reading Crimes Against Liberty, a book written by David Limbaugh which is five hundred pages long and includes one hundred pages of indexed footnotes for each chapter.

Skimming through the book are details on how Fearless Reader admitted that he doesn’t care about the lawmaking process just the result. There is a culture in the Department of Justice where they “don’t believe the voting rights laws should ever be enforced against blacks and other minorities,” as evidenced by the fact that DOJ dismissed a case against the New Black Panther Party that had clear video evidence of voter intimidation.

The book discusses how the regime asked Americans to report their friends for circulating emails critical of ObamaCare and has given nearly a billion dollars to Hamas-ruled Gaza while undermining our ally Israel at almost every turn. The book also discusses how this president-in-training continues to weaken our national security by signaling appeasement to Iran as well as refusing to acknowledge or confront threats from radical Islam.

There’s lots more, but then I don’t have to state the obvious.

Teen Banned From U.S. for Life After Sending Obscene E-Mail to Obama

FOXNews.com - British Teen Banned From U.S. for Life After Sending Obscene E-Mail to Obama: "-

I had to read this one twice just to believe it. A British teen sent BO an email calling him a pr&*K and now he is barred for life from entering the United States. Really, barred from life by the FBI for an email! The teen tried to claim he was drunk when he sent the email; not sure why he tried to defend himself. Just to clarify something here, we have illegal immigrants/criminals sneaking across the border daily, committing crime after crime and we want to give them amnesty and let them stay as long as they have a "legal relative" living here! I guess all of us bloggers who call out Obummer daily are next! I hear Cuba is nice this time of year!

Robert Stacy McCain's DC Tea Party Piece: “Because my life is mine by right and will not be used to maintain a world that doesn’t know it.”

by the Left Coast Rebel

Robert Stacy McCain quickly caught my attention and eye when he quoted Francisco d'Anconia from the iconic Rand classic, Atlas Shrugged.
"Because my life is mine by right and will not be used to maintain a world that doesn't know it."

Atlas Shrugged is so pertinent to today's America that it almost reads like a Nostradamus prediction The crisis that today's leadership has put upon our Constitutional Republic is perfectly spelled out in Atlas Shrugged, written fifty three years ago. The Francisco d'Anconia quote referenced by Robert Stacy McCain was actually written on a sign carried by a Tea Partier at the Washington D.C. event yesterday. Robert Stacy McCain explains in the American Spectator:

Brianna Aubin stood in the front row of the rally on the West Lawn of the Capitol, holding aloft a sign hand-lettered in green: "Because my life is mine by right and will not be used to maintain a world that doesn't know it."

That slogan was paraphrased from a monologue spoken by Francisco d'Anconia in Ayn Rand's classic libertarian novel Atlas Shrugged. "I read it in high school, but it wasn't until the past year that I realized how accurate it was," said Aubin, a 25-year-old who had traveled from Illinois to D.C. for the event.

Aubin was among the thousands who turned out for the second "9-12 Taxpayer March on Washington" organized by FreedomWorks. Liberal bloggers gloated that the attendance for Sunday's event was significantly smaller than the previous year, but this year's march came only two weeks after a crowd estimated at upwards of 300,000 showed up for Glenn Beck's "Restoring Honor" event at the Lincoln Memorial. While observers debated Sunday's crowd size, Massachusetts blogger Pete Ingemi offered a more concrete analysis: "Today was tens of thousands and Beck had hundreds of thousands, but the only numbers that really matter are the numbers on November 2."

Rant; Enough of Stupid Americans- Iranian/ Shourd Case

Call me a curmudgeon but it is what it is,,,,,,,

I have had just about enough of pandering to the parents of Americans who have "hiked" into enemy states.

I am not willing to support stupidity and neither should you.

I could care less as to why they went wherever they got nabbed be it 'humanitatian' or otherwise, the point is they knew where they were going.

How can we as Americans or more specifically Conservatives say ; Do not cross our border ILLEAGALLY yet turn around and chastise Iran for detaining the 'hikers' on the same demand? This is not consistent , which is demanded by conservatism.

Really, I pray for their safe return from Iran, but at the same time think realistically;

-They were 'hiking' in fact in a war zone declared by our government, the theatre of Iraq.

-Add to that, they were 'hiking' along a border with a known enemy of the U.S. since 1979.

Now those two facts alone support my rant but this keeps on being repeated. As an American , which by the way defines a Conservative, I deplore the efforts of Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton and any other who pay ransom to devils be it N. Korea, Iran or any other shithead murderous nation, this is weakness on our part and for what? Stupid people!

How many times does it take for Americans to STOP rallying to stupid peoples personal mental problems?

People of America had better wake-up and soon, never before have we as a people supported such behavior here in our country and now we ask that others do?

My God think before you speak let alone what you pay for and support!

Burning Flags Yes, Books No...

OK, let me get this straight.  There is rioting and protests in Afghanistan, yes Afghanistan, over a moronic US pastor's publicity move of "burning" a Quran (which by the way was never going to happen).  During these riots, the "peaceful" Islamic people of Afghanistan were targeting members of their own government and chanting phrases like "death to America".  According to a report thismorning at Fox, 2 people have even died during this rioting when they attempted to storm a government building.  Apparently it is OK to fly a freaking plane into a skyscraper, killing thousands, destroying buildings and creating terror world wide, but if an attention crazed pastor even talks about burning a book, albeit a holy one, it is grounds for chants of death by these idiots.  Don't get me wrong, I am not in favor of burning ANY book, let alone a holy one.  However, a book burning is a big step from an act of war.  And oh by the way, I guess it is ok to burn our flag.

Rage: The Good..The Bad..and The Ugly..

Rear View Mirror

There will be a day when we will look back on these (hopefully) four years as a diminishing nightmare. We will wake blearily, shake the cobwebs from our brains, slam down a couple of Alka Seltzer, and face the brave new dawn and the prospect of having an experienced grown up running this country. For the moment we must tough it out and watch The Pantload and his Clown Troupe make a mockery of government and our Constitution.

The latest puerile outburst on Labor Day, particularly the "bark like a dog" comment, has become symbolic of the mediocrity we endure. Over at Pajamas Media, the preeminent Dr Victor Davis Hanson has weighed in on that remark and the childish petulance that the POTUS is coming to engage in more and more.

Obama in just twenty months has developed a reputation for being petulant, unusually sensitive to the normal run-of-the-mill criticism. His latest pushback was his strangest so far: “And they’re not always happy with me. They talk about me like a dog. That’s not in my prepared remarks, it’s just — but it’s true.”

Given that Obama has previously called out talk radio critics by name — Beck, Hannity, Limbaugh — attacked everything from limb-lopping surgeons to vacationing at Las Vegas, and in condescending fashion tsk-tsked those who attend Glen Beck rallies, rural Pennsylvanians, and his own “typical white person” grandmother who raised him, his thin-skin touchiness seems inexplicable.

Surely the most powerful man in the world knows that when you elevate talk radio critics to near-equal adversaries, then one cannot complain that they press their now high-profile serial attacks even further.

Add that his team has indulged in invective like few recent administrations — whether Obama’s own slur against the stereotyping and stupidly acting police, Eric Holder’s collective denunciation of Americans as “cowards,” Van Jones’ various hysterics (e.g., polluting and mass-murdering whites, Bush in on 9/11, etc.), Anita Dunn’s attacks against Fox News, or the generic “Bush did it” chorus.

The wonder is not that Obama is angry at criticism, but why he is so surprised in a weird “how dare they?” fashion.

Not to discredit Dr Hanson's fine work and the [mostly] wonderfully literate responses, I grow weary of analyzing this pathetic charlatan. I mean, this sort of thing was de rigueur in the salad days of his tenure. We had to cling to something to assure ourselves he was a chimera, a cypher, an empty suit and NOT the second coming as his cohorts of sycophantic lib HopenChange leg-tinglers described.

But, at 20 months, it's old news. I get it. Move on.

Of course, I do not mean that VDH should abandon this line of essay nor everyone stop commenting. It's just that one longs for the time when this unaccomplished dolt of a POTUS will become insignificant.

I do not watch the posted videos of his speeches and remarks anymore, knowing them to be just more of same: clumsy, hopelessly inept, decidedly un-presidential. I just want to spare myself of the wave of revulsion that invariably ensues.

It is not the flailing that he does now on the eve the Democrat's purported bloodbath ~~ brought on largely because of his non-existent chief executive skills -- that are important. These are but appetizers for the real feast that is to come: what he says and does after the November holocaust.

Along with the incredibly over-reaching Pelosi and the terminally incompetent and bumbling Reid, he has constructed the morass that the Democrat party now dwells in. He is bereft of strategic ability and his tactical skills are equally non-existent. Even into the run-up to their supposed Armageddon, he remains clueless and reactionary. The knee-jerk proposal of blowing $50 billions of our cash on yet more "infrastructure programs" is nothing more than a thin broth of already failed, too-late talking points in a futile effort to save his party. The hip, too-cool for words, g-droppin' speaking style, shirt open at the collar is a cracking and fading veneer covering what the nation is increasingly coming to regard as a snake oil salesman, a carnival barker. Vaporware.

We are tired of him and will continue to do so.

His numbers -- at 41% today -- should consistently break the magic floor of 40% some time later this year or in January 2011. He will then enter into a vicious cycle of lip-flapping, gum-beating, coatless, tieless, g-droppin' appearances and we will be more and more underwhelmed -- causing him to redouble his futile efforts. to no avail.

..until he becomes an insignificant object rapidly diminishing in our rear-views.

Zo is Back! Doggin Obama,,,and a Few Thoughts

Now my turn. Besides the obvious which Zo stated very clearly, Hussein in his speech Monday and the one on Wednesday, he must have used the term 'middle-class' like a 100 times.

If you listened closely on Monday this is the highest 'class' that he wants the masses to achieve if at all.

A couple of quotes from Hussein on Monday:

"So let us never forget: much of what we take for granted-the 40-hour work week, the minimum wage,,,"

"middle class remains the backbone of our economy-not just a vanishing ideal,,,"

What I did not hear was a sitting president not just stopping at middle-class but striving and persevering for much more,,,maybe like Ronald Reagan would have said. "Middle class,, vanishing ideal"? I always find reaching for the top the ideal, last I heard that is above middle-class.

Also, I know of no one that takes a 40-hour work week for granted.

I would like to know who in the official number of 9.6% of unemployed or those not counted anymore think of that statement.

Nor have I encountered anyone ever who took 'minimum wage' for granted at all. Think about that a moment, a person saying to them self; "Gee whiz I am making minimum wage, I've made it, I am set for life"!!

Quality Assurance

Definition of QUALITY ASSURANCE

: a program for the systematic monitoring and evaluation of the various aspects of a project, service, or facility to ensure that standards of quality are being met.

I live in the world of Quality Assurance, work that is, and do my utmost in my personal life to uphold as well. I have worked in this field over the bulk of my adult career most recently in the automotive industry.

All of us depend upon it no matter where we live, work or play. I happen to love the term born out of Ford Motor Co. "Quality is Job One" (No, I do not work for Ford Motor). That statement/slogan is American as can be.

Consider if you will on a simple conversation, Do you wish it to be informative and lively or nonsense and boring? If the answer is the former then you to strive for Quality Assurance.

Further, think of ANY product you may wish to purchase, do you want Quality Assurance that, that said product was manufactured? If yes to that, then again we strive for the same, Quality Assurance I need not go on and on with examples as most reading this know of them but I will add one more, swing sets. Do you wish that your purchase of a swing set go without rigorous quality assurance protocol before giving your children a go on it?

The point of this is that if we expect Quality in anything should we not expect the very same in who represents us politically?

The list is endless as to promises made and promised not kept by government , programs that work and those that do not, but we must stay focused on the present and the future as it is dire. We have all heard Bush this and Bush that, we have heard it and actually have put into context, but that again is the past not the present.

We must, and I cannot stress enough the word and meaning of must, help and vote for those who remain dedicated to our founding Quality document - the U.S. Constitution. That will be our only Assurance that we the people can instill ourselves.

The current majority of representatives in congress serving since 2006 and subsequently 2008 have failed the American populous miserably on the Quality part let alone Assurance being they cannot or refuse to read. This holds true for the current regime hold-up in the White House

We as Americans can re-start our Quality Assurance program on November 2, 2010 by voting out ALL those who strayed from the original Quality Assurance road map and continue our quest for Quality into 2012.

Want to get a little angry?

Starting to sewat..

Seems like the Democrats are finally -- finally -- waking up to the realization that they might get their asses handed to them in NOvember. from a NYT story (linked to the Oakland Tribune version here), it seems they want to "firewall" the House and Senate races and cut their losses in order to try and preserve control of Congress.

As Democrats brace for a November wave that threatens their control of the House, party leaders are preparing a brutal triage of their own members in hopes of saving enough seats to keep a slim grip on the majority.

In the next two weeks, Democratic leaders will review new polls and other data that show whether vulnerable incumbents have a path to victory. If not, the party is poised to redirect money to concentrate on trying to protect up to two dozen lawmakers who appear to be in the strongest position to fend off their challengers.

"We are going to have to win these races one by one," said Rep. Chris Van Hollen of Maryland, chairman of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, conceding that the party would ultimately cut loose members who had not gained ground.

Although as recently as 10 August, Democrats said they were pleased with fund raising efforts and were confident they'd get out the vote, there has been a sudden, sterner tone in their rhetoric along with concessions that things might not be so rosy come 11/2/2010.

To hold the line against Republicans, the House speaker, Nancy Pelosi, issued an urgent plea for members in safe districts to help their endangered colleagues by contributing money. She called out to Democrats who were delinquent on paying their party dues and instructed members with no re-election worries to tap into a combined $218 million from their campaign accounts to help save their majority.

"We need to know your commitment," Pelosi wrote to lawmakers last week in a private letter, demanding that they call her within 72 hours to explain how they plan to help.

She added, "The day after the election, we do not want to have any regrets."

It remains to be seen, however, who will have the regrets at the end of the year. While all signs point to a bloodbath, it ain't over til the fat lady says it's over, the Germans bomb Pearl Harbor, and all that..

I still say we cannot afford to phone this one in. Conservative commentators and pundits were at first cautious about predicting the angry tidal wave vote that would sweep incumbents congress out of office but are on board with the cheery predictions. Of course, this will only heighten expectations to a degree that anything less than a 75-seat wipe-out would seem like a moral victory for Democrats.

In 1994, it came as a big surprise when they got flushed. But if they know it's coming, guaranteed it won't seem as bad as they (or anyone) expected. Additionally, they just might mitigate the outcome should they mount this Alamo-like defense of the House and Senate they're planning (emphasis added):

While several Democratic candidates have more money in the bank than their rivals, Democrats fear that outside Republican advocacy groups will step in and fill the gap. They are watching to see if interest groups and other constituencies increase their donations to Republicans in the hopes of winning access and influence should the House change hands.

While Democrats have all but given up hope that the political or economic climate will improve substantially before the election, they are not conceding control of the House. Several party leaders and strategists privately acknowledge that about 20 seats are already probably lost, but they believe they can build a fire wall around seats in the Northeast and in other pockets across the country where Republicans have nominated untested candidates.

The battle is boiling down to a question of mathematics and difficult decisions for Democrats. By the best-case Democratic calculation, party strategists believe that Republicans must beat about 35 sitting Democrats if the parties split 16 highly-competitive open seats and Democrats win four of five Republican seats they see as within their reach in Delaware, Florida, Hawaii, Illinois and Louisiana.

In such a scenario, the survivors might be regarded as heroes and -- should the Republicans fail to govern in Congress with stern conservative principles -- the whole thing can be spun as "See, I told you so" and arguably lend credence to Obama in the final two years of his first (but not necessarily last) term.

I dunno how to play this so I am going to firewall it myself -- I'm going full tilt until NOvember -- to get Boxer and Pelosi out of power. That's the best i can do from the Left Coast.

Touch 'em all..

Childhood hero of mine: "The Mick"..

Victor Davis Hanson is a rare, quiet, and dignified farmer in the Central Valley of California. He is an educated man of letters, history, and politics and holds forth on -- among his distinguished venues -- on Pajamas Media.

He is so good, in fact, that I grow weary of the many respondents to his posts of the form, "Excellent work Doctor Hanson..blah..blah" or "Anogther masterpiece By Victor Hanson.." and so on. My preference is to stipulate to Dr Hanson's abilities and cut right to the main course of the feast, the meat of the particular post being commented on.

Further, I heartily recommend your following him over there and wherever else he writes. In fact, if he turns up on the Hew Hughitt show (I know, I know..) he deserves a listen if only for the stark contrast between his towering word prose and the quiet, unassuming, almost Walter Mitty speaking style.

I admire this man to no end.

That said, Dr Hanson has come around on yet another 3-and-2 high-and-outside fastball and sent a towering drive to right-center field. It's not a question of whether this will be a four-bagger but rather where it will land in the parking lot after clearing the fence, the stands, and the stadium.
Modern day hero of mine: "The Vick"..

It is a work comparing the peanut-sized Pantload to George Bush; it is a ten-point dissection of the POTUS - and the FLOTUS -- that shows up how small, petty, thin-skinned, and incapable the former truly is and how noble, kind, and graceful the latter was as he served out the last days of his troubled second term.

A sample:

It is a uniquely American trait to shun whining and petulance. Rugged  individualism and can-do optimism used to be ingrained in our national  character, and even in our 11th hour have not wholly disappeared. So the  public is tiring of Obama’s Pavlovian blaming of Bush. After 20 months,  it is time for the president to get a life and quit the “heads you  lose/tails I win” attitude about presidential responsibility. If he now  takes credit for calm in Iraq without crediting the surge, then Obama  can  surely take blame for the anemic recovery — brought on by his own  bullying of business that has frightened free enterprise into stasis.  Note that Bush, unlike Clinton, has not engaged in emeritus tit-for-tat  recrimination, and has kept largely quiet in dignified repose. Obama  serially goes after Hannity, Limbaugh, and Beck by name; Bush let the  slander of a Michael Moore or Keith Olbermann go unanswered.

Is this essay --like so many of VDH's -- worth reading?

Hell, copy it off. It's worth keeping.

Uncle Sam Will See You Now Or How ObamaCare Will Ruin Doctor/Patient Relationships FOREVER

In late July, I had an appointment with my regular physician. I have been seeing him for twenty-plus years. He is the same doctor who has taken excellent care of me since I was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes in March of 2006.

Before my diagnosis, I may have visited him two times a year for a case of the sniffles, but diabetes made it necessary to see him every three months to insure I was managing my diabetes to prevent or reduce the complications associated with that chronic disease.

I could never have imagined ending my relationship with him.

At the conclusion of my visit, he literally broke my heart. He advised me that my last appointment ever with him would be in October of this year. He confided that ObamaCare was forcing him to end his practice because of the ways in which the new law would impact his ability to render the best possible care for his patients.

Most people assumed that the American Medical Association represented most of the doctors in this country. In fact, the AMA represents less than 20 percent of all physicians in the United States. And yet as the organization’s leadership moved more to the left, it held a near monopoly on media attention on issues pertaining to public health. No longer.

Docs4PatientCare is challenging the AMA’s stranglehold on health care matters, just as other groups once challenged the right of the left-leaning American Bar Association to determine what judges are and are not qualified for the United States Supreme Court. How Docs4PatientCare managed to barge its way into the closed-door meetings of Washington offers a lesson to other groups seeking to have a voice in their federal government.

Writing an op-ed piece in The Wall Street Journal, Dr. Hal Scherz is countering this election year ruse.

Scherz writes, “My colleagues and I at Docs4PatientCare are enlisting thousands of doctors in an unorthodox and unprecedented action. Our patients have always expected a certain standard of care from their doctors, which includes providing them with pertinent information that may affect their quality of life. Because the issue this election is so stark—literally life and death for millions of Americans in the years ahead—we are this week posting a ‘Dear Patient’ letter in our waiting rooms.”

Facing a nationwide backlash, Democratic congressional candidates have a new message for voters: We know you don't like ObamaCare, so we'll fix it.

"Despite countless protests by doctors and overwhelming public opposition—up to 60% of Americans opposed this bill—the current party in control of Congress pushed this bill through with legal bribes and Chicago style threats and is determined now to resist any 'repeal and replace' efforts. This doctor's office is non-partisan—always has been, always will be. But the fact is that every Republican voted against this bad bill while the Democratic Party leadership and the White House completely dismissed the will of the people in ruthlessly pushing through this legislation."

The letter's final lines are the most important:

"Please remember when you vote this November that unless the Democratic Party receives a strong negative message about this power grab our health care system will never be fixed and the doctor patient relationship will be ruined forever."

Scherz concludes, “America's doctors have millions of personal interactions each week with patients. We have political power. And we intend to use it by working to defeat those who have disrupted and gravely endangered the best health-care system in the world.”

Gonorrhea Lectim - help stop this disease

This is very important we need to stop the spread of this disease.
Information about Gonorrhea Lectim

The Center for Disease Control has issued a warning about a new
virulent strain of this old disease. The disease is called Gonorrhea
Lectim. It's pronounced "Gonna re-elect 'em," and it is a terrible
obamanation.

The disease is contracted through dangerous and high risk behavior
involving putting your cranium up your rectum. Many victims contracted
it in 2008...but now most people, after having been infected for the
past 1-2 years, are starting to realize how destructive this sickness
is. It's sad because Gonorrhea Lectim is easily cured with a new drug
just coming on the market called Votemout. You take the first dose in
2010 and the second dose in 2012 and simply don't engage in such
behavior again; otherwise, it could become permanent and eventually
wipe out all life as we know it.

Several states are already on top of this, like Virginia , New Jersey ,
and Massachusetts , with many more seeing the writing on the wall.
