Obama Really Does Have A Second Term Agenda

These words from Valerie Jarret should scare the hell out of all of us...

“After we win this election, it’s our turn. Payback time. Everyone not with us is against us and they better be ready because we don’t forget. The ones who helped us will be rewarded, the ones who opposed us will get what they deserve. There is going to be hell to pay. Congress won’t be a problem for us this time. No election to worry about after this is over and we have two judges ready to go.”
Plain and simple. If Obama wins, its the end of America as we know it.
Send these creeps back to Chicago and vote Romney.
For love of country!

Obamas Failed Foreign Policy - The Truth About Libya

Obama has failed on all levels, its way past time for a change.

Earn Your Trident Every Day . . .

About the two Navy SEAL’s killed in Libya:

Quite an astounding tribute to the courage and bravery of the two former Navy SEAL’s that went to the aid of Ambassador Stevens and Embassy staff. Courageous!

Recently I was teaching a class in my church on the biblical character, Joshua. You remember him – he’s the one who took over for Moses to lead the Israelites into the Promised Land. God made several promises to Joshua in the opening verses of this book of the Bible named after him. Three times God instructs Joshua to “be strong and courageous.” In fact, one of those times God instructed him to be “very courageous.” The road ahead was a tough one and Joshua would need to be up to the task.

The news has been full of the attacks on our embassies throughout the Muslim world, and in particular, the deaths of Ambassador Chris Stevens and three others in Benghazi , Libya . However, apart from the shameful amount of disinformation willingly distributed by the Main Stream Media and the current administration, there’s a little known story of incredible bravery, heroics, and courage that should be the top story of every news agency across the fruited plain.

So what actually happened at the U.S. embassy in Libya ? We are learning more about this every day. Ambassador Stevens and Foreign Service officer Sean Smith, along with administrative staff, were working out of temporary quarters due to the fact that in the spring of 2011 during the so-called Arab Spring, the United States cut ties with then president Moammar Gadhafi. Our embassy was looted and ransacked, causing it to be unusable. It is still in a state of disrepair. Security for embassies and their personnel is to be provided by the host nation. Since Libya has gone through a civil war of sorts in the past 18 months, the current government is very unstable, and therefore, unreliable

A well-organized attack by radical Muslims was planned specifically targeting the temporary U.S. embassy building. The Libyan security force that was in place to protect our people deserted their post, or joined the attacking force. Either way, our people were in a real fix. And it should be noted that Ambassador Stevens had mentioned on more than one occasion to Secretary of State, “Hillary Clinton”, that he was quite concerned for his personal safety and the welfare of his people. It is thought that Ambassador Stevens was on a “hit list.”

A short distance from the American compound, two Americans were sleeping. They were in Libya as independent contractors working an assignment totally unrelated to our embassy. They also happened to be former Navy SEALs. When they heard the noise coming from the attack on our embassy, as you would expect from highly trained warriors, they ran to the fight. Apparently, they had no weapons, but seeing the Libyan guards dropping their guns in their haste in fleeing the scene, Tyrone Woods and Glen Doherty snatched up several of these discarded weapons and prepared to defend the American compound.

Not knowing exactly what was taking place, the two SEALs set up a defensive perimeter. Unfortunately Ambassador Stevens was already gravely injured, and Foreign Service officer, Sean Smith, was dead. However, due to their quick action and suppressive fire, twenty administrative personnel in the embassy were able to escape to safety. Eventually, these two courageous men were overwhelmed by the sheer numbers brought against them, an enemy force numbering between 100 to 200 attackers which came in two waves. But the stunning part of the story is that Tyrone Woods and Glen Doherty killed 60 of the attacking force. Once the compound was overrun, the attackers were incensed to discover that just two men had inflicted so much death and destruction.

As it became apparent to these selfless heroes, they were definitely going to lose their lives unless some reinforcements showed up in a hurry. As we know now, that was not to be. I’m fairly certain they knew they were going to die in this gun fight, but not before they took a whole lot of bad guys with them!

Consider these tenets of the Navy SEAL Code: 1) Loyalty to Country, Team and Teammate, 2) Serve with Honor and Integrity On and Off the Battlefield, 3) Ready to Lead, Ready to Follow, Never Quit, 4) Take responsibility for your actions and the actions of your teammates, 5) Excel as Warriors through Discipline and Innovation, 6) Train for War, Fight to Win, Defeat our Nation’s Enemies, and 7) Earn your Trident every day ( http://www.navyseals.com/seal-code-warrior-creed).

Thank you, Tyrone and Glen. To the very last breath, you both lived up to the SEAL Code. You served all of us well. You were courageous in the face of certain death.

And Tyrone, even though you never got to hold your newborn son, he will grow up knowing the character and quality of his father, a man among men who sacrificed himself defending others. God bless America !

ROMNEY

From a comment in a RCP article on "Obama's Dereliction of Duty" article by Mark Salter:

B Ha Moderator 1 day ago

why meet with world leaders who expect actual governance when you can meet with fawning celebrity fans on a national tv show that has a mostly female (who votes you need) audience? he's not an empty chair; he's an empty suit.

Twister Moderator 22 hours ago in reply to B Ha

B Ha -

Agreed! Think a guy like THIS would abdicate responsibility? (By the way, Democrats and Independents, I wrote every single word of this myself over a period of almost 5 years of reading and learning about Romney from independent sources, meaning, not one single statement came from the Romney website or a Romney mailer. Verify it all yourself.)

ROMNEY:

- Graduated with “University Honors” from BYU (also known as “Highest Honors”, their most prestigious form of recognition, somewhat equivalent to valedictorian) with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English; he’s not just a numbers guy

- Master’s degree in Business (Harvard, a Baker's scholar: top 5% of business students)

- Master’s degree in Law (Harvard, graduated Cum Laude / with Honors, top 1/3 of his class)

- Earned both master’s degrees (business AND law) at Harvard University simultaneously (Could you do that? I couldn’t.)

- Had an incredible 80% success rate in private business and now worth between $200 and $250 million (compare this to Obama and many of Obama's closest advisers who have never had to turn a profit or go hungry, and, no, don't whine about workers Romney let go when investing in a company while at Bain Capital because you'd be forgetting to look at: A) the fact that Bain was INVITED by the companies to have Bain invest in them; there were no “hostile takeovers” by Bain Capital and B) the workers' jobs Romney saved by saving a dying company and C) the jobs he created after those struggling companies were turned around and started to grow again)

http://theweek.com/article/ind...

- Gave away his inheritance in 1998 to start / help fund the “George W. Romney Institute of Public Management” at BYU (his father, George Romney, died in 1995)

- As head of the 2002 Winter Olympics (Salt Lake City) turned a potential loss (-$379M shortfall) into one of the few profit-earning Olympic games (+$100M profit)

- Donated his entire Olympic Games salary and severance package ($1.4M) to charity

- Put aside partisanship prejudices/trash-talk by successfully campaigning/winning the governor's seat (2003 – 2007) as a Republican in a heavily Democrat-controlled state LONG before Scott Brown

- While governor of Massachusetts, at HIS request, served the people of MA at the salary of $1/year (that’s right, ONE DOLLAR)

- Previous executive leadership experience as a state governor, including Massachusetts' Commander In Chief of state military forces (Yes, a state governor is legally the Commander In Chief of that state's National Guard forces unless those troops are called to active-duty by the President)

- Turned Massachusetts' budget from red to black while governor (- $3.0B to +$2.16B; that’s “billion” with a “B”)

- Cut taxes 19 times as Massachusetts governor (that’s not a typo, NINETEEN)

- As MA governor, developed a plan that would make deadbeats pay for their own health care (you may not like the MA health care law but that's what it's sole purpose was. Still don't like it because of the mandate? Don't move to MA.) (BTW, how would YOU have solved the MA healthcare free-loader problem and how would you have done it with an overwhelmingly Democrat-controlled state legislature like Romney had to work with?)

- “Service over self”. Romney endorsed McCain only 2 days after ‘Super Tuesday’ in 2008 when it became obvious McCain was the clear front-runner; America is more important to him than his ego (Can you say “He’s not Newt Gingrich or Rick Santorum”?)

- Volunteer service to community as a church head pastor for 13 years all with ZERO pay (that's right, none); 5 years as a “bishop” and 8 years as a “stake president”

- Would give ALL his Presidential salary ($1.6 Million total) back to the American taxpayers if elected (yes, he's on record as committing to this)

- Voluntarily turned down enrolling in Medicare when he turned 65 on March 12, 2012
(in other words, he’s NOT sucking up our precious tax dollars because he knows he can, and therefore should, take care of himself)

- He also chose to NOT receive any Social Security payments upon turning 65 because, again, he knows he can take care of himself and therefore should not rely on our tax dollars to help fund his daily living

- Looks, talks and acts "Presidential"

- Released his last 2 years of filed tax records (2010 AND 2011) proving he’s not a tax cheat; paid $1.94 million in federal income taxes in 2011giving him an effective tax rate of 14.1%. AND, the private firm which prepared Romney’s taxes from 1990 through 2009 issued a letter stating that Romney paid 100% of the federal and state income taxes owed during those 20 years. The firm also said Romney’s average annual effective federal tax rate was 20.2% for those 20 years. Satisfied?

http://money.cnn.com/2012/09/2...

- Cares about his fellow man: gave $3,000,000 to charity in 2010 and $4,000,000 to charity in 2011; that’s $7 MILLION in just 2 years. Would you have done that? Romney did.

http://www.nypost.com/p/news/o...

- He’s pledged (repeatedly) that he’ll repeal Obamacare and REPLACE it with something better.

- And finally…..he’s N-O-T Obama

P.S. - If all one can say about a candidate is that they are a member of "X" church and ignore the talents and character of the person, that person does not deserve the privilege of voting.

Justice Department Clears Itself

Otherwise known as the crock 'o' sh*t report.
Holder's own department investigating itself?

The Justice Department's internal watchdog on Wednesday faulted the agency for misguided strategies, errors in judgment and management failures during a bungled gun-trafficking probe in Arizona that disregarded public safety and resulted in hundreds of weapons turning up at crime scenes in the U.S. and Mexico.
And what about Eric Holder and his involvement? He wasn't in the loop?
The report did not criticize Attorney General Eric Holder, but said lower-level officials should have briefed him about the investigation much earlier.
If it smells like sh*t, it probably is.

The old Three-Card Monty..

The debates are coming up and you can expect to get a good dose of the old Three Card Monty when that lip-flapping liar gets his turn. Hell, you hit the comment threads on a lot of the political blogs and articles and you will see the comment stream festooned with this clown's sycophantic minions pumping his "four million jobs created" Bravo Sierra - the latter day reincarnation of the old "saved or created" mantra. Anyway, here's a little primer that you can use to study up for that first debate on October 3rd. It moves pretty fast but, hey, it's free so you can replay it as many times as you want to get it down pat.

..so, there it is! Oh, and for your reference, here's some Bravo Sierra:

1980 = 2102?

Some remembrances as to why this November might be reminiscent of that memorable November 32 years ago.

In November, most of us will be going into that voting booth with one thing on our minds: put the best person in place to solve the problems of this economy. This is an almost identical scenario to 1980. We had a weak-kneed POTUS and an economy in bad shape. (Although it was not as bad as this one.) We have been beset for four years with a media that has been humping this POTUS’s leg for his entire term. We cannot get a break as they still persist in polishing this turd.

The alternative is a good, honest, clean living family man who does not need this job, could care less about the power it brings, but has volunteered out of the goodness of his heart and through love of this country to try to lead us out of this dreary wilderness. (Think about it. What is Romney’s motivation? He could live the rest of his life comfortably irrespective of who was steering the ship the next four years.)

On a conservative blog when I postulated that Romney is in the same position as Reagan, some TrueCon outgassed that Romney is no conservative, cannot arouse the base and, therefore, the 1980 analogy does not apply.

To which I respond Bullshit!

The people’s main motivation back in 1980 was to rid ourselves of that crapsack Carter. The majority who knew Reagan voted for him, not because he was a true conservative but rather because he was a good and decent man. After the debates, they agreed he was up to the job. Doubt me? Then please provide a valid rationale for the so-called Reagan Democrats. Surely those folks would have preferred other than a rock-ribbed conservative. All of us back then suffered under a suffocating media blanket. The only outlets were the alphabet networks who heard no evil, saw no evil, and spoke no evil of Carter. There was no “new media” then. Consequently we all sat in our homes and seethed at Carter’s jelly-kneed fecklessness. We went into those polling booths — true conservative, centrist, Reagan Democrat — in a blind rage and the results were memorable.

Anyway, whatever happens in November happens. if Romney loses then I believe we have gone past the tipping point where most Americans will want the nanny state to raise them, clothe them, feed them, and wipe their asses all the way to the grave.

However, I believe Romney will will and will win handily. My belief is anecdotal to be sure. No D+10 skewed polls; no babbling talking heads expelling endless persiflage, no super hip Pantload Preezy hangin’ with the homeys.

Just me, my seething, 80s retro anger, and my belief that the American public — not the mirror-fogging mouth-breathers, the good, common, decent folk — do not like what has happened to all of us over the last four years and want to do something about it.

Downsiding..

As long as we're skimming over the Charlotte Freak Show, here is something we need to get back in touch with. If is the absolutely heart-wrenching commentary of Karen Vaughn, mother of fallen Navy Seal of Aaron Carson Vaughn, reacting to Barack Obama’s campaign ad “One Chance.” Karen and Billy Vaughn lost their son Aaron last year in Afghanistan. Video courtesy of Andrew Marcus:

The offensive segment of the ad is interspersed between this courageous mom's lamentations.

Hint: you want to understand her being on the verge of tears? Try imagining your son or daughter had died in a foreign conflict and you could no longer see them, hear them, or talk to them. I did this with THE GOOD LANCE CORPORAL and it brought me to tears.

God bless this woman, God bless her husband, God keep her beloved son in the cradle of his arms..

..and God damn Obama to Hell.

Getting the message (again)..

Via Drudge and CBS:
SIOUX CITY, Iowa — President Obama received a less than warm welcome and a warning upon arrival at the airport here on the second stop of his Iowa visit, which was aimed at recapturing some of the magic the state gave his run to the White House in 2008.

Greeting Air Force One as it touched down under sunny skies and sultry heat was  a hand-painted banner draped across the top of an airplane hangar that reads, “Obama Welcome to SUX – We Did Build This.” “SUX” is the airport code for Sioux City.

The message appeared to be a response President Obama’s “you didn’t build that” remark from a July campaign rally, when he was trying to explain that government — not businesses — constructed public infrastructure on which the economy relies. Republicans have used the four words to attack Obama as out of touch with the realities of owning and operating a small business.
So SUX is the ICAO of Souix City? You know, like LAX (actually KLAX) is for Los Angeles International and and JFK (actually KJFK) is for John F. Kennedy in New York. Sure is helpful to craft a message like that described above with the double entendre!

Sure look like Obama is racking up the greetings from his adoring fans. First Ohio, then Iowa, and now Iowa again.

Think I'm beginning to see a trend here.

A man's gotta know his limitations..

"..Sunday afternoon matinee cancelled.."
Word's going around that the crowds at Obama's campaign speeches are pretty thin these days.

Hell, this ain't new. It started around when the luster began to wear off and people discovered the was a liar and a SCOAMF. It first manifested itself seriously when he went to Massachusetts in 2010 to rally the troops for the insipid Martha Coakley against Scot Brown. That was in a high school gym where the had to draw the curtains across half of the floor to hide the gaping vacancies.

I chronicled the love-fest-throttle-back in a series of posts at The War Planner entitled Cracks Part I, Cracks Part II, Cracks, Part II.5, Cracks..er..3.0? 4.0? Whatevs.., Cracks Part IV,  and Cracks 5.0 that variously point out plummets in the pools and sparse event attendance. O.K., so you don't have to click on all them, I was just intent on showing you that I had all the exists covered years before this became the meme.

However, I would also like to call your attention to the sparse campaign kick-off at Ohio State that this SCOAMF experienced, the one where the upper decks of the were devoid of human form and the Obamatons went through all sorts of mental gymnastics to revise the max seating capacity of that venue so the percentage would not seem so egregious.

But now the limitations of this man's popularity are becoming embarrassingly apparent and it's gotten a little more outrageous. It seems that these crowd down-turns have caused the Pantload's campaign to fumble for excuses to alleviate concerns. The recent one they came up with is a howler:
However, President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden are not drawing the crowds they once could. The New York Times is reporting that the Obama campaign is saying that it is intentionally limiting crowd size at their events because of security and cost:

“We have plenty of time for big rallies,” a campaign spokeswoman, Jen Psaki, said between the rallies on Thursday. “Our focus right now is on exciting our supporters and winning over undecided voters and the smaller and medium-size events are the best venue to accomplish that because the president can closely engage with the crowd.

”Big rallies are expensive, especially given the logistical and security challenges for a president as opposed to a mere United States senator." And Obama campaign operatives, both at the Chicago headquarters and in swing states where Mr. Obama recently has stumped, say the campaign intentionally limits crowds by restricting tickets. The reason is to allow the president to better connect with supporters, aides say.
With this sputtering proffered excuse extant and a definite trend being seen, the Washington Free Beacon has come up with the reducto ad absurdum metaphor for Obama's current campaign trajectory:
The most telling moment of the campaign this week was not Mitt Romney or Joe Biden’s speech to the NAACP convention, but President Obama’s Tuesday appearance in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Nor was it the content of Obama’s message that made his utterances noteworthy. It was the small venue: yet another community college. Now, Kirkwood Community College is no doubt a fine place, but Sports Authority Field at Mile High it is not. And one is unlikely to come across a better indicator of presidential shrinkage.

The White House took desperate pains to note that the president talked to an “overflow crowd.” What it did not mention was that an overflow crowd in a community college gym could not fill the seats in, say, the OSU stadium. There was a time when Obama regaled audiences of 30,000, 75,000, 80,000 people. Now he speaks to true believers at high schools. By the end of the campaign he may well find himself, like Spinal Tap, playing to a threadbare crowd at Themeland Amusement Park in Stockton, California (a city which, fittingly enough, is bankrupt). The sign outside: “PUPPET SHOW AND PRESIDENT OBAMA.”
In borrowing on this metaphor, I want to dredge up one of the most delicious moments in the movie Spinal Tap where scenery and props for an upcoming concert are discussed:

..may be an apt substitute for the now-gone-missing Greek columns this patent phony used in Denver during his bloated inauguration nomination acceptance speech.

Harry Reid (according to sources) has been blowing coke up his nose for the past ten years...

why am I not surprised?

Romney: Harry Reid needs to 'put up or shut up' on my taxes
Mitt Romney on Thursday said Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) needs to “put up or shut up” when it comes to charges the presumptive GOP nominee did not pay his taxes.

Romney also accused the White House of being behind the allegation.

“It’s time for Harry to put up or shut up,” Romney said on Sean Hannity’s radio show. “Harry’s going to have to describe who it is he spoke with because that’s totally and completely wrong. It’s untrue, dishonest and inaccurate. It’s wrong. So I’m looking forward to have Harry reveal his sources and we’ll probably find out it’s the White House.”  read the rest

FIFTY YEAR OLD MANURE SPREADER - $1.00

Fifty-year old manure spreader. Not sure of brand.
Said to have been produced in Kenya.
Used for a few years in Indonesia before being smuggled
into the US via Hawaii. Of questionable pedigree.
Does not appear to have ever been worked hard.
Apparently it was pampered by various owners over the years.

It doesn't work very often, but when it does it can really
sling the shit for amazing distances. I am hoping to retire
the manure spreader in November. I really don't want it
hanging around getting in the way. I would prefer a foreign

I would be willing to trade it for a nicely framed copy of

Another Obama Success Story

Obama did after all, have a penchant for the sixties...

The ranks of America's poor are on track to climb to levels unseen in nearly half a century, erasing gains from the war on poverty in the 1960s amid a weak economy and fraying government safety net.
Census figures for 2011 will be released this fall in the critical weeks ahead of the November elections.
The Associated Press surveyed more than a dozen economists, think tanks and academics, both nonpartisan and those with known liberal or conservative leanings, and found a broad consensus: The official poverty rate will rise from 15.1 percent in 2010, climbing as high as 15.7 percent. Several predicted a more modest gain, but even a 0.1 percentage point increase would put poverty at the highest since 1965.
Don't be too hard on Barry, he has had a lot on his plate lately.

Forgive and fugeddaboutit..

Nancy Reagan recently made the news regarding the possibility of John Hinckley's being paroled from custody -- there is speculation Hinckley may soon be released as having been rehabilitated. (You might recall that John Hinckley was a seriously deranged young man who shot President Reagan in the early 1980's. Hinckley was absolutely obsessed with movie star Jodie Foster, and, in his twisted mind, loved Jodie to the point that to make himself well known to her, he attempted to assassinate President Reagan.)

Mrs Reagan's outreach to Mr Hinckley is a lesson we all should learn in forgiveness;  she remains the epitome of elegance and grace. You will appreciate the following letter she wrote to him:

To: John Hinckley
From: Mrs. Nancy Reagan

My family and I wanted to drop you a short note to tell you how pleased we are with the great strides you are making in your recovery. In our country's spirit of understanding and forgiveness, we want you to know that we bear no grudge against you for shooting Ronnie.

We are fully aware that mental stress and pain could have driven you to such an act of desperation. We're confident that you will soon make a complete recovery and return to your family to join the world again as a healthy and productive man.

Best wishes,

Nancy Reagan & Family

P.S. - While you have been incarcerated, Barack Obama has been banging Jodie Foster like a screen door in a tornado. You might want to look into that.

Government Overpays Unemployment Benefits

To the tune of $14 billion.
The kicker? Joltin Joe is in charge of cutting over payments at Federal agencies!

Vice President Joe Biden is charged with leading the Campaign to Cut Waste, an initiative started last year that aims to cut overpayments at federal agencies.
Unemployment insurance boasts the second highest rate for "improper payments" of any federal program, behind the National School Lunch Program.
"Unemployment checks are going to people in prison. Unemployment checks are going to graveyards," Biden said in September.
We are way past the point of laughing at these idiots.

Welcome to Ohio..

..now go home!

The Pantload's bus rolls into the Buckeye state to an adoring throng!

Courtesy of Lucianne dot com and a hearty thanks to my brother-in-arms: schadenfreude of Hot Gas!

Need your help out here in Lotus Land..

We gun owners here in California here are under yet another assault (if you will excuse the expression) on our right to bear arms. Many years ago in a liberal galaxy far, far away, the unelightened Feds sought to outlaw what they called Assault Rifles. These were defined, for the purposes of this law as:
Semi-automatic rifles able to accept detachable magazines and two or more of the following:

  • Folding or telescoping stock
  • Pistol grip
  • Bayonet mount
  • Flash suppressor, or threaded barrel designed to accommodate one
  • Grenade launcher (more precisely, a muzzle device which enables the launching or firing of rifle grenades, though strangely, this applies only to muzzle mounted grenade launchers and not those which are mounted externally)
(A note to concerned readers: I have not used my grenade launcher in years!)

The law only outlawed weapons manufactured in the future; it grandfathered in weapons already legally owned and registered. It was passed and signed immediately into law by President Cohibatator ~~ presumably between diddling interns with huge Havanas. It was also a 10-year law that expired..

..except out here in the People's Republic of Kalifornia. As you may expect, the laws here are draconian ("..are some of the strictest in the United States") and the law forbidding assault weapon ownership predates the federal ban by five years. They are still in force. By the way, it should be noted that several times attempts to re-institute the Federal AWB have failed to make it into law, notably a humiliating 9-89 vote defeat by our beloved menopausal-grandmother-and-only-slightly-smarter-than-Barbara-Boxer Senator Diane Feinstein.

But I ramble.

One of the definitions and disqualifiers of so-called assault weapons out here is the so-called detachable magazine. This point was circumnavigated by the so-called bullet button:
Bullet Button
The California assault weapon ban has been largely circumvented by minor design changes by gun manufacturers. One of the most common modifications is a "bullet button", which modifies a rifle so that the magazine is not removable without the use of a tool - in this case, the tool being a bullet, or other tool, which presses a button (The button is designed so that a finger alone cannot press it ). Weapons with this feature no longer have a "detachable magazine" within the assault weapons definition, and therefore may be exempt depending on the other requirements.

The recent court case Haynie v Pleasanton validated that a Bullet Button is legal and guns that have one installed do not qualify as assault weapons.[31]

The term "bullet button" was coined due to the need to use the tip of a bullet to release the magazine from the gun. many tools have been devised to make it easier and faster to drop the clip from the gun. Because the California law states that you must use an external tool not attached to the gun, the most popular tool, the "magnet button" that sticks on the bullet button is illegal. Of the available tools that are external to the gun the "ThumBee", an elastic band with a "stinger" that slides over the thumb appears to be the fastest and cheapest legal solution. Whatever tool you choose, be sure it is legal because if your gun is determined to be an assault weapon it is a felony and could result in jail time and/or confiscation of your entire gun collection.
Well, as the result of a typically breathless editorial piece by the CBS affiliate that has motivated California State Senator Leland Yee  (D-San Francisco, of course) to gut an existing agricultural bill, SB 249, and use it as a vehicle for banning the bullet button. Without wandering into he weeds, a follow-up of the CBS article can be found here and below is a is a video that responds to the controversy from the gun owner's perspective.

Interestingly, there is a feeling abroad in the land in the wake of the recent DC handgun ban SCOTUS rulings, that tinkering around the edges of the 2nd Amendment will cause the efforts of gun control proponents to blow up in their faces. In the interest of brevity, here is one person's opinion:
Vince Warde · Top Commenter
Sen. Yee should think carefully before pushing this bill. It is going to be a very hard bill to write narrowly so that it only affects the "magnetic mag release". There is no doubt that placing this device on a Bullet Button equipped rifle (with prohibited features) is already a felony. Is it really necessary to ban the button?

I think Sen. Yee's real target is the Bullet Button itself. This is just stupid. These guns are already crippled. They can only use ten round mags and are slow to reload. Merely inserting a hi-capacity magazine, even a legally owned one, is a felony.

Furthermore, if the Bullet Button is banned, it will almost certainly lead to the loss of the entire assault weapons law. Here's how:

1) Most of the weapons generically banned by feature are - according to the Heller/McDonald SCOTUS decisions - protected by the 2nd amendment because they are in "common use" by citizens.

2) The best - and really the only - defense the state of CA can make is that these guns (such as the AK47 and AR15) are not banned at all. They are merely limited in the interest of public safety.

3) Therefore the Bullet Button, ironically is the salvation of the assault weapons ban. Take the bullet button option away and getting the federal courts to strike down the ban is just a matter of time.

Before blowing this off, gun control advocates should remember that you all thought the DC handgun ban would be upheld. You lost. DC has continued to loose - including a loss at the DC Court of Appeals, which struck down long gun registration - let alone a ban.

Therefore gun control advocates would be wise to oppose this bill.
It would be nice of you all out there would send Senator Yee an e-mail voicing your opposition to what he is attempting to do. However, do not expect a receptive audience. Nonetheless, here is his e-mail address:
senator.yee@senate.ca.gov

Please be polite and respectful when you make your points. He won;t be listening, but no sense giving him any -- er -- ammunition.

There is a petition to stop this and I ask that you at least sign it and you are encouraged to visit the Gun Owners of California web site for more news and for ways you can help.

We out here on the frontier appreciate your helping us hold onto our firearms.

UPDATE: Here is a rather interesting analysis of this bill done by the law offices of Jason Davis of the law firm Davis and Associates at the behest of the CalGuns fFoundation. Mr Davis concludes rather ominously:

Again, anything you can do to help us. Remember, if they are successful here, then they will eventually be successful in your state.

June jobs report blows chunks..

Play time in the vomitorium. Today's BLS jobs numbers came in like the previous two this quarter: a huge sack of crap-doodle. The three-month average of added jobs was 75,000 making it the worst hiring quarter in two years and, put together, less than the 243,000 created in January. Also, there were some warts among the patches of acne as well (below courtesy of Ed Morrissey over at Hot Air and other sources):
  • One-third of the hiring came as a result of temporary jobs
  • More people went on government disability than were given a job (85,000 v. 80,000)
  • The unemployment rate remained at 8.2%
  • The unemployment and underemployment rate surged to 14.9%
  • Unemployment among blacks rose to 14.4%
  • Unemployment among Hispanics at 11%
  • Civilian labor force participation rate remains low at 63.8%
And our Beloved Leader is roaring around the country in his Canadian-made buses, Betting on America (yet another slogan) and campaigning on these numbers, characterizing them as a "step in the right direction". Here is this fool's actual statement on this subject -- sans even the remotest acknowledgement that the job market's tanked since January:

Can anyone -- not on life-support in an ICU -- be any more clueless than this clown and the 350 mirror-fogging mouth-breathers that slurp up such brazenly huckstered snake-oil applause lines like his?

Romney sums up the problem nicely in a quasi-debate response:

..so, while you contemplate all of this, go back and reconsider that little morsel offered up above.
More workers joined the federal government’s disability program in June than got new jobs, according to two new government reports, a clear indicator of how bleak the nation’s jobs picture is after three full years of economic recovery.

The economy created just 80,000 jobs in June, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported Friday. But that same month, 85,000 workers left the workforce entirely to enroll in the Social Security Disability Insurance program, according to the Social Security Administration.

As Investors Business Daily further notes, that isn’t the exception in the Obama recovery, but the rule:

The disability ranks have outpaced job growth throughout President Obama’s economic recovery. While the economy has created 2.6 million jobs since June 2009, fully 3.1 million workers signed up for disability benefits.

..all in all, no bread and a huge bite of Obama's latest served up crap-sandwich.

Life Site News: Obama Admin Sends $395K to Tennessee Planned Parenthood...

your tax dollars hard at work!
The Obama administration has sent a family planning grant of $395,000 to a Planned Parenthood abortion business in Memphis, Tennessee.
Congressman Steve Cohen (D 9th District TN) said:

[...]“Planned Parenthood Greater Memphis Region has been helping Memphis and Shelby County residents get the health care they need to lead happier, healthier lives for years,” said Congressman Cohen.  “These new federal funds will help ensure the Title X Family Planning Program reaches those who need help the most in underserved communities.”
Allow me translate this for you.  "Happier" means killing your baby and "underserved communities" means black people.  And they call us racist???

And what business does the federal government have handing out our money in any old way it deems necessary?  This is no more than redistribution of wealth and Marxist cronyism and clearly outside the bounds of the constitution.  What in hell is wrong with the people of this country that they continue to allow this crap to go on?

"The poor bastards.."

Some words to remember from Bill Whittle on this Fourth of July:

..his last words was a quote lifted from a medic in Bastogne durign the Battle of the Bulge:
At the hospital set up in the town, "I looked around and never saw so many wounded men. I called a medic over and said, 'Hey, how come you got so many wounded people around here? Aren't we evacuating anybody?' "

"Haven't you heard?" the medic replied. "I haven't heard a damn thing." "They've got us surrounded—the poor bastards."

Did The Founders Have This In Mind?

Such an innocent line in our Constitution . . .

Article 1 - 8.3 To regulate commerce with foreign nations, and   among the several states, and with the Indian tribes;

With a single sentence yours and my government has been stealing our freedoms away. Read that one more time please. Does it say anything about our governments right to take our freedoms?

In a liberal's mind, I'm afraid it does. Chief Justice Roberts
and 4 other justices think so too.

The door has been now opened for the government to tax to
control our behavior. If you don't eat your spinach they'll
fine you and call it a tax.

Open Letter to Mitt Romney and (Other) Establishment GOP

From our Friend Fuzzy of Fuzzy Slippers

There seems to be some general, and perhaps understandable,
confusion among both leftists and the establishment GOP
about the TEA Party and its very real role in national politics.
I thought I’d take a few minutes to explain a few home truths
to you so that you don’t misread a potential White House win
as some sort of “mandate.”  That would be a big mistake.  Big.

Issa Plans To Move On (Updated)

Move on with contempt of Congress vote.

House Republicans plan to press on with consideration Wednesday by the Oversight and Government Reform Committee of a vote to hold Attorney General Eric Holder in contempt of Congress regarding a stand-off over documents tied to the botched Fast and Furious" sting operation.
The announcement Tuesday night by committee chairman Darrell Issa, R-Calif., followed a closed-door meeting at the Capitol between Issa and other Republican and Democratic lawmakers with Holder at the U.S. Capitol. Issa described himself as disappointed and still hoping for a breakthrough.
Everyone in that room knew Holder wasn't going to produce anything that would be helpful or truthful.
But Issa said, "Today, the Attorney General informed us that the Department would not be producing those documents. The only offer they made involved us ending our investigation."
"While I still hope the Department will reconsider its decision so tomorrow's vote can be postponed, after this meeting I cannot say that I am optimistic. At this point, we simply do not have the documents we have repeatedly said we need to justify the postponement of a contempt vote in committee," said Issa.
Time to get this before the full House and boot the thug.
Update:
Eric Holder didn't turn over any new documents. None, zip, zero, nada...

Same Bravo Sierra, different day..

One day after the Framing Speech in Cleveland and it's less than charitable press reviews, Obama is skewered by several items that accurately characterize the sum and essence of this fool's lip-flappin', G-droppin' message to his homies.

First, an ad from American Crossroads devishly disguised in the red, white, and powder blue mantle of the Obama color scheme:

..and then this cartoon by the incomparable Ramirez comparing our former presidents' famous remarks to The Pantload's soaring rhetoric:

And then there's always the latest gambit that The First Fool has thrown agaist the wall to see if it will stick: alone and without the consent or approval of congress, he's gonna order the cessation of deportation of young illegals entering this country:
The Obama administration announced Friday it will stop deporting illegal immigrants who come to the country at a young age.

The politically charged decision comes as Obama faces a tough reelection fight against Republican Mitt Romney, with Hispanic voters in swing states seen as a key bloc.

The change in policy could allow as many as 800,000 immigrants who came to the United States illegally not only to remain in the country without fear of being deported, but to work legally, according to a senior administration official speaking to reporters Friday.

Obama is set to make a statement at 1:15 p.m. Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano announced the new policy Friday morning.

“Our nation’s immigration laws must be enforced in a firm and sensible manner,” Napolitano said in a statement. “But they are not designed to be blindly enforced without consideration given to the individual circumstances of each case. Nor are they designed to remove productive young people to countries where they may not have lived or even speak the language. Discretion, which is used in so many other areas, is especially justified here.”
Many point out that Romney, appearing on Face the Nation this Sunday (his first non-Fox "unsafe" appearance), needs to point out that this is an election gambit designed to pander to the intersection of two subsets of the electorate Obama desperately needs: young folks and illegals -- and, by extension, Hispanics. He can also say that the Tinkers-to-Evers-to-Chance on this is the bleeding heart mantra of “would you deport an innocent 16-year-old child who has done nothing, obeyed the law, and his/her only fault is that they were brought here by their parents” is extended to the parents: “Would you deport the parents of an innocent 16-year-old child who..”

And that means that those folks (the parents) will be here to take jobs from legal immigrant workers and American citizens AND perforce, their children will need to continue their education and have their healthcare paid for by the taxpayer.

I personally think, like the other strategies tried by this gang that couldn't shoot straight -- the war on wimminses, the war on dogs, the war on Bain Capital, the war on Ann Romney, the war on war, etc. -- that this will only succeed in placing a large orange Chef Boy-ar-Dee stain on the plaster and another messy pile of noodles on the floor below.

Give the man what he wants..

Romney's latest ad on the heels of The Pantload's droning, mewling, creepy, framing speech today:

Well, you got it SCOAMF and you'll own this right up until 20 January 2013 when your bony ass will get thrown right out onto Pennsylvania Avenue.

In keeping with this theme, here's my choice for tune of the day:

Smart Stew

(Posted by the War Planner who desperately wants to start doing the rule-five-Friday thingamajig except he spends too much time looking at Odie's Rule Five Friday posts.)

A 50-something year old Muslim man arrived at his seat on a crowded flight and immediately didn't want the seat. The seat was next to an elderly white woman reading her Bible. Disgusted, the Muslim man immediately summoned the flight attendant and demanded a new seat. The man said "I cannot sit here next to this infidel." The flight attendant said "Let me see if I can find another seat."

After checking, the flight attendant returned and stated "There are no more seats in economy, but I will check with the captain and see if there is something in first class." About 10 minutes went by and the flight attendant returned and stated "The captain has confirmed that there are no more seats in economy, but there is one In first class. It is our company policy to never move a person from economy to first class, but being that it would be some sort of scandal to force a person to sit next to an UNPLEASANT person, the captain agreed to make the switch to first class."

Before the irate Muslim man could say anything, the attendant gestured to the elderly woman and said, "Therefore ma’am, if you would so kindly retrieve your personal items, we would like to move you to the comfort of first class as the captain doesn't want you to sit next to an unpleasant person." Passengers in the seats nearby began to applaud while some gave a standing ovation.

THE HITS KEEP ON COMIN' UPDATE: Another little e-blast from my friend Cappy Robertson and my apologies to the ladies out there:

"Baby, you can drive my car.."

The New 2012 Ford

Renault and Ford have joined forces to create the perfect small car for women.

Mixing the Renault 'Clio' and the Ford 'Taurus' they have designed the 'Clitaurus'. It comes in pink, and the average male car thief won't be able to find it - let alone turn it on - even if someone tells him where it is and how to do it.

Rumor has it though, that it leaks transmission fluid once a month, and can be a real bitch to start in the morning! Some have reported that on cold winter mornings, when you really need it, you can't get it to turn over.

New models are initially fun to own, but very costly to maintain, and horribly expensive to get rid of. Used models may initially appear to have curb appeal and a low price, but eventually have an increased appetite for fuel, and the curb weight typically increases with age. Manufacturers are baffled as to how the size of the trunk increases, but say that the paint may just make it LOOK bigger.

This model is not expected to reach collector status. Most owners will find it is best to lease one, and replace it each year.
